Lead Generation Strategy
Before the ads and the pages, the plan. We map your audience, offer, channels and numbers so every dollar of your lead generation budget has a job and a target to hit.
A lead generation plan that decides where the budget goes
Lead generation strategy is the planning that happens before any campaign spend. It answers the questions that decide whether a campaign succeeds, who the buyer is, what will make them enquire, which channels reach them, what a lead is worth, and how many you need. The Leads Hub has planned lead generation for Toronto and Greater Toronto Area businesses since 2007, and we build the strategy first so you are not paying to learn these answers through trial and error.

We start with the economics. What is a customer worth to you, how many enquiries does it take to win one, and what can you afford to pay for a lead while staying profitable? Those numbers set the targets every channel is measured against. Then we define the audience in detail (their situation, their triggers, the objections that stop them) and the offer that will move them, because the offer usually matters more than the channel.
From there we select channels and sequence them. Search and Google Ads capture existing demand; paid social, content and email create and nurture it; landing pages and lead capture convert it. We map each channel to a stage of the buyer's decision, set a budget split, and define the tracking and reporting that will tell us what is working. You come away with a written plan: audience, offer, channels, budget, targets and a 90-day rollout, something you can execute with us or take in-house.
What a lead generation strategy covers
Lead Economics
Customer value, close rates and a target cost per lead that keeps the campaign profitable.
Audience Definition
Who your best buyers are, what triggers them and the objections that stop them enquiring.
Offer Development
The specific reason to contact you now, tested against what competitors put in front of the same buyer.
Channel Plan
Which channels to run, what each one is responsible for, and how budget is split between them.
Measurement Framework
The tracking, definitions and reporting that will tell you which channels produce enquiries.
90-Day Roadmap
A sequenced rollout so the campaign launches in the right order, not all at once.
How we build the strategy

Discovery
We review your sales data, current marketing, competitors and the customers you most want more of.

Model the numbers
We work out lead value and a viable cost per lead, then set channel-level targets from there.

Design the campaign
Audience, offer, channels, budget split and creative direction are documented as one plan.

Handover or execute
We deliver the written strategy and either run it for you or brief your team to run it.
Why choose The Leads Hub for strategy
- We plan around lead value and cost per lead, so the strategy is tied to profit, not activity.
- Channel-agnostic planning: we recommend the mix that fits your buyer, not the services we most want to sell.
- In business since 2007, with campaign plans built across trades, professional services, healthcare and B2B.
- You get a written plan you own, usable with us, with another agency, or in-house.
Lead generation strategy FAQs
Do I need a strategy if I just want to run ads?
You can run ads without one, but you will spend part of the budget discovering your audience, offer and viable cost per lead. A short strategy phase front-loads those decisions so more of the spend goes to results.
How long does the strategy work take?
Typically two to three weeks, depending on how much sales and analytics data is available and how many stakeholders need to be involved.
Can we take the plan and run it ourselves?
Yes. The deliverable is a written plan you own. Many clients have us build the strategy and the initial assets, then run day-to-day execution in-house with us reviewing performance.
What if we do not know our numbers yet?
That is common. We help you estimate customer value and close rates from whatever data exists, start with conservative targets, and tighten them once the first campaign produces real cost-per-lead figures.
