We are your Search Engine Optimization and web marketing experts
Web marketing, internet marketing, digital marketing, online advertising, search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) are all strategies designed to get traffic to your website. To some, these strategies can be very confusing. Let me simplify the question “What is web marketing?”.
There are two main categories of web marketing, on-site marketing and off-site marketing. You need both halves to get ranked high in search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing.
On-Site Optimization
On-site (meaning on your website) optimization is generally referred to as search engine optimization (SEO). These are the techniques you can use to “optimize” your site to make it search engine friendly. Optimizing your site generally means that you have identified keywords to market to search engines and have strategically placed keywords throughout your site in all the right places.
For example, if you identified “chartered accountant” as your main keyword phrase, your website domain would ideally be www.charteredaccountant.com. One or all of your page titles would include your keyword phrase “Chartered Accountant”. You would also include “Chartered Accountant” in your page content and in your Meta keywords. There is more, but you get the idea.
Optimization can also mean optimizing your pages for prospect conversion. This could be compelling text, the addition of forms, optimizing images and videos. If you are advertising online such as Google or Facebook ads, the addition of landing pages on your site is also critical to optimize for conversions.
Off-Site Marketing
Off-site marketing is generally referred to as search engine marketing (SEM). These are links (hyperlinks) on other websites that link back to your website pages. Search engines look at these links as votes for your website and the more votes you get, the higher you rank. Of course, some links have more value than others and some links can actually hurt your rankings. An example of a backlink, as they are called in the internet marketing community, could be a link from a social media site like Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn to your website. A backlink could also come from a guest blog, an article, a news story or a directory to name a few. There are of course many ways to get backlinks secured for your company by a reputable SEO service, like The Leads Hub.
Some links have more weight (point value) than others. For example, a link from a high ranking website like a Chartered Accountants Association would carry more weight than a link from a no-name website.
When you leverage both onsite optimization and off site marketing together, you can create a very powerful force. E.g. Let’s say the text in your link from the Chartered Accountant Association was labeled Chartered Accountant and it was linked to a page on your www.charteredaccountant.com domain and the page title was Chartered Accountant News and the page content was all about chartered accountants. That would be a powerful link. Now do that many times over and over and that is how you rank on the first page of search engines.
In general terms, if there were two chartered accountant websites that were both optimized properly for the same keyword phrase and one website had 10 incoming links and the other had 20, the website with 20 incoming links would rank higher.
I hope the above simplified your understanding of how pages rank on search engines.
Almost 90% of people searching the internet do not go past the first page of search results. Therefore if you are not on the first page of search results it does not matter if you are on page 3 or 300, the chances of your prospects finding you are slim and none.
To get included in the first page of search engine results is not for amateurs. Identifying the right keywords to market, optimizing your website and getting quality backlinks are crucial to your success. Typically, our clients start to enjoy first page rankings after 3-4 months.

This can be Google AdWords, Facebook ads, Display ads, Retargeting ads, YouTube ads and more. Here we create ads, campaigns, and landing pages and generate leads for you almost immediately.
